Players from our Get Lucky Volleyball Gold Coins Tournament

Thank you, everyone, for helping our second annual charity volleyball tournament a success! We had teams as far north as Portland and as far south as Roseburg.

We raised about $1000 and will donated all of it to charity.

Six competitive teams competed in the morning Gold Coins Tournament. The final match between Pressing Our Luck (led by Lori Lee) and Four Leaf Cloverfield (led by Elvin Chandra), was a close one. Pressing Our Luck won and chose Autism Speaks as the organization to receive part of our donation.

Gold Coins Tournament Champion: Pressing Our Luck – Jason Martorano, Caleb Scott, Lori Lee, Brittany Deal, Brian Kramer, and Josh Scott.

In the afternoon, six adventurous teams competed in our Leprechaun Tournament. Bangers and Smash, led by Ashley Furrer, won the championship. They chose Northwest Dog Project to receive the other half of our donation.

Thank you to all the families who brought their amazing kids to our first Kids Volleyball Academy on Saturday October 13, 2018! It’s exciting to see parents prioritize their kids’ development on a Ducks home game. Big thanks to our coaches Kim and Jesus for volunteering their time.

Coach Kim led 11 kids through various progressions from warm-ups to hitting. Each one shared their goal for the day. At the end, they shared what they liked most. A couple said they learned how to underhand serve. Arjun shared he learned to jump serve! Another child said the best part was, “Team!” Jai asked, “When is the next one?”

To answer Jai’s question, our next Kids Volleyball Academy is Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 9 to 11 AM.
